Last night we got a splendid email announcing that classes were cancelled due to inclement weather! This is the first real snow day the University of Michigan has had since the 1970s! I swear that everyone started screaming simultaneously. A few minutes later, I received a message from my ski team... we were going to go XC skiing in the streets of Ann Arbor! The plows had given up plowing for the time being and there was a good layer of fresh snow, so I decided to go. It was 11:00pm when we started. Wind chills were approaching negative digits, but this didn't keep the student body from having a snowball fight in the Diag. :p I met up with my team and we skied around the campus and main streets (including State, Main, Packard, and Hill). We had many people taking pictures of us, and it got to the point where I felt like I was being followed by paparazzi. We were the talk of the town last night. We even got offered beers from a frat house!
We skied until 1:30am, and boy was it ever an amazing time! This will seriously be one of my favorite memories from college! We even made it as a top Yik Yak! :D
