Yesterday I fully intended on posting an update on my blog, but then my Yoga class decided to go until 9:15 instead of 8:45, leaving me with lots to do and less time to do them. So, I shall make up for that by updating today for both days. :)
Yesterday turned out to be a beautiful 28 degree day... a little warm for skiing, but I'm soooo not going to complain! I went out for about an hour with another one of ski team friends and we chatted it up while doing some rather difficult trails (if you're super curious, Michigan Tech has a trail map and we were on Hairpin, Cemetery, and Skitter). It was really nice to ski and not freeze for once and I truly enjoyed every minute of it! She is going to be doing the 24K race in the Great Bear Chase tomorrow and I'm in awe at that. :p
After skiing, I went and had dinner while waiting for my Yoga Class. It is an hour and half long class and I really enjoy it! It's called "Advanced Yoga", but it offers a lot of variations and variety and all ages and skill levels come. We spend the last 2o minutes in deep meditation and it is always super refreshing! I intend to do Yoga at least once a week while I am training for my marathon, because I feel like it is just so good for you, especially while doing endurance sports/activities.
As for today, it is a Rest Day in preparation for my 10K race tomorrow. This is the farthest I have skied for competition and I'm both very excited and very scared. I'm not looking for record time (aiming for under an hour), so, I'm going to focus on having fun. :)
